Very little really. However, if pushed, I would say that the food at breakfast was of an acceptable standard.
This hotel is very basic, and looks tired and weary. I did not stay for an evening meal, choosing to find a pub a couple of miles away that looked clean. The room was just ok, but it did have damp very visable through the wallpaper. As previously stated the food at breakfast was acceptable, however, I was surprised not to be served the cup of tea that I was offered when I first entered the room. What made this even more surprising, was the fact that I appeard to be the only person staying - it was a Monday night. Basic lack of attention to detail, that sums this hotel up really.

The grounds are beautiful for a family stroll, and the hotel feels cute, perfect for family events like weddings or just a weekend getaway.
For dads, it would be great if there were more children's activities available.

My room was spacious with a comfortable super king size bed. The staff were friendly, and the food was delicious, especially the fish and chips!
The outside appearance was a bit underwhelming.

The location was very peaceful, and the staff could not have been more friendly, caring or welcoming. Next time I am up in Cumbria on business, I will definitely stay here again.

Excellent service, even though a few employees were not professional. Had well-appointed and recently renovated standard queen room with a bath and wake-up service was available in it.
Well, Wi-Fi was very poor.

I was enchanted by the beautiful gardens surrounding the hotel, which are well-maintained and easy to navigate. The dining hall was tastefully decorated, and the staff were accommodating to my needs as a senior guest.
More seating options in common areas would be nice.
